miniArtCamp!
Program: An exciting and productive mini day camp which combines art making and art related activities. Our schedule
gives kids a diverse program with an excellent blend of outdoor time exploring exciting destinations in the city and studio
time, creating and working on their own projects. Our program utilizes the tremendous urban resources from which children
learn and develop their projects. Students will bring home an art portfolio at the end of the program.
Our
miniArtCamp! provides an opportunity for kids to express themselves creatively while developing new skills and experiencing
new challenges. The combination of traditional and contemporary art making as the core of our program, and the experienced
artists/instructors make our mini day camp unique.
TYPICAL DAY miniArtCamp! typical day starts at the
studio with a warm-up drawing exercise followed by the presentation of a specific art project for the day. On a designated
day(s), the group will embarks on a field trip to either: - Explore, sketch and study a historical
building, a church… - Visit and draw at a museum
At the studio, kids develop and finish their own project.
Each class includes a hands-on activity, to develop 2-D and 3-D visualization and craftsmanship skills. Including drawing,
painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay, collages... Art related videos and projections are part of the program.
STAFF miniArtCamp! staff is carefully chosen for their maturity, energy and experience with children. Counselors are
college students drawn from prestigious art/architecture institutions such as Cornell University and Cooper Union. Art instructors
are practicing artists/architects leading Wet Paint! Art Studio.
